Keir Starmer announces new Hillsborough Law

BASW England welcomes Prime Minister Keir Starmer's commitment, announced at the Labour Party Conference, to introduce a new Hillsborough Law before the next anniversary of the disaster. 

This is a vital step towards ensuring justice, accountability, and transparency for all victims of public disasters and scandals. 

We reaffirm our unwavering support for the Hillsborough Law Now campaign groups and pay tribute to the courage, resilience, and determination of the survivors, campaigners, and families who have fought tirelessly for this legislation. 

Their persistence has paved the way for reforms that will protect future generations.
