Social Workers awareness of and perspectives of speech and language and communication needs (SLCN) in young people who offend
Sinéad Stapleton, 4th year Speech and Language Therapy student at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh is undertaking a project investigating social workers’ perspectives of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) in young people who offend, or who may be at risk of offending, in Scotland.
Your participation and perspectives will be highly valuable in understanding how SLCN presents in young people in contact with the youth justice system. As a result, this will help to inform how provisions pertaining to SLCN need to be implemented, or continued to be implemented, across Scotland.
The questionnaire should take no longer than 15-20 minutes to complete. Questions may be left unanswered and you may exit the survey unfinished at any point without having to provide a reason. Every aspect of the data gathered will be entirely anonymised and it will not be possible for your identity to be revealed in any subsequent publication of the collected responses.
If you would like to contact an independent person, who is aware of this project but is not involved in it, you are welcome to contact Professor Jim Scobbie. The contact details are given below.
