Speaker: Matt Bee
Matt is a specialist trainer with North Yorkshire Horizons responsible for running its learning platform Drink Drug Hub. Matt is a qualified social worker, working in adult services for ten years before becoming a recovery worker. He is also a writer and has written for Community Care, Professional Social Worker, the Guardian, and writes a fortnightly column in Social Work News.

• An introduction to common perceptions about drugs, alcohol, and addiction. • How perceptions marginalize people and cut them off from support • How we can be more aware of our own perceptions in practice • How we can better support people who drink or use drugs • An introduction to Drink Drug Hub as a regional resource for social workers.
