Professional Capabilities Framework Independent Evaluation
The evaluation, led by Professor Jermaine Ravalier of Buckinghamshire New University and his team of researchers, considers what the PCF looks like compared to frameworks in other professions. It asks social workers their perceptions on whether the PCF is still fit for purpose and, if so, whether it needs to be changed or improved in any way.
Working with a steering group of sector representatives from social work and Experts by Experience of social work services, BASW has accepted and responded to the evaluation’s recommendations.
Professional Capabilities Framework Evaluation – Your Views Matter
BASW commissioned an independent evaluation of the PCF as part of a new PCF refresh. The next phase of the review of the PCF is to gather feedback from social workers in all fields and areas of responsibility, including students and academics, who use the PCF.
