IMPACT – Improving Adult Care Together – Call for Social Worker Nominations to the National Assemblies
IMPACT is a new four-nation initiative aimed at sharing innovation and good practice in Adult Social Care. IMPACT launched this June and is convening a series of National Assemblies to determine the future workplan. Assemblies will bring together people with lived experience, front line professionals, seldom heard voices and senior managers and commissioners. Each Assembly is looking for between 1 and 3 nominations from social workers in the front line.
Social workers can nominate themselves. Assemblies are nation specific, and will respond to the very different ways Adult Social Care is delivered across the UK, so if you wish to nominate yourself, please do this for your appropriate country. There will be two National Assemblies in England, and one each in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. An Assembly lasts three hours. Assemblies need to balance a range of stakeholders, so being a nominee does not automatically guarantee a place on the Assembly.
The date for the England Assembly (South/Midlands/South West) is 12 July 2-5. The date for the Welsh Assembly is 21 July 2-5. The dates for England (North/East), Scotland and Northern Ireland have yet to be determined. Service users will get an involvement payment, but professionals (including social workers) will need to participate either in work time or in their own time.
