BASW England has received nearly a thousand membership responses to our survey on the Children & Social Work Bill
87% believe that social work regulation should remain independent of Government
76% disagree with Clause 29 of the Children and Social Work Bill which would allow local authorities to opt
out of some of their statutory duties to children and families in order to pilot innovative ways of working
72% would prefer a new bespoke regulator, 24% would prefer to stay with HCPC
83% believe that the post-qualification framework should be led by the profession
