BASW response to the murder of Sara Sharif
The British Association of Social Workers sends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and all those affected by the horrific murder of Sara Sharif.

Julia Ross, BASW Chair spoke about the pressures social workers are facing on Sky News today, following the details shared on the case. BASW are proactively engaging with Channel 4 News, the BBC and LBC to represent social workers as more details emerge from this case.
We will now await the outcome of the Local Child Safeguarding Practice Review to understand findings and learning for all who were involved in Sara’s life. BASW will share a fuller statement at this point.
