BASW sends condolences to Sri Lanka colleagues
Chief executive, Ruth Allen, writes to SLAPSW in wake of tragic attacks
BASW has responded to the tragic attacks in Sri Lanka by offering our condolences to the Sri Lanka Association of Professional Social Workers (SLAPSW).
In a letter to the secretary of SLAPSW, BASW chief executive wrote: “I am writing…to offer condolences on behalf of our association, our member-directors and all our social work members for the loss of life, injury and, no doubt, enduring shock your country has experienced as a result of the terrible recent bombs.”
“We stand with you as social workers of the world, with shared ethics and commitment to fair and safe societies.”
The chair of BASW’s International committee, David Jones, has also written to SLAPSW offering condolences.
