Call for evidence - Adult Social Care Inquiry
BASW England is asking members who work in Adults services to respond to a government inquiry into the financial sustainability of local authority care and the quality of care provided.
The Communities and Local Government Committee will examine if available funding for social care is sufficient for local authorities to meet their statutory obligations to assess and meet the needs of people needing care and support. The inquiry will also look at the role of carers and alternative funding models for financing and providing care, including progress on the objective for integration by 2020.
BASW England is asking for submissions from social workers experiencing financial pressures in their daily practice. We specifically want to hear your experience of the effect that this has on your ability to meet the needs of vulnerable adults. Examples of good practice and innovative ways of meeting needs of service users and carers are also welcome.
Please send your evidence to Professional Officer Joe Godden by 30th July at j.godden@basw.co.uk
