Celebrating Social Work: BASW UK Celebration and Annual General Meeting
On 15th September BASW UK – the professional association for social work and social workers – will hold its Annual General Meeting.
Alongside the meeting BASW will host members and non-members in a celebration of social work and in discussion about vital themes for the future of social work.
Social workers and allies can join BASW from 1.30-2.30 to recognise and celebrate the role of social work in the UK.
From 2.30, there will be the opportunity to contribute to BASW’s essential work on:
- Equality Diversity and Inclusion
- The Involvement of People with Lived Experience
- Sustainability and care of the environment in social work
- International development of social work
The formal meeting will take place from 3.30 to 6pm. BASW will report to members on our work over the last year and members will vote on motions that set out priorities for the future.
More information about how to book a place and how to join online will be shared shortly.
Please join us, particularly if this is your first Annual General Meeting.
Gerry Nosowska, BASW Chair, said ‘This event is for celebration and action. We want all members and social workers who care about the future of the profession to join us. BASW will be shouting about social work on the 15th September. Come and add your voice.’
