Further funding secured for the Professional Support Service for social workers in Wales!
“I cannot rate the coaching session I took part in highly enough. It was the most reflective discussion I have had in the past decade in social work, and I came away with a renewed sense of confidence in myself and my practice. I will be recommending professional coaching to all! Thank you BASW.”
Allison Hulmes, National Director for Wales is happy to announce that we have secured another year’s funding for the Professional Support Service for social workers in Wales.
Allison said “We are grateful to the Welsh Government who will be funding the Professional Support Service (PSS) in Wales, for another year.
The PSS, as a bespoke peer to peer service, has provided a lifeline to social workers, to discuss their wellbeing or to explore opportunities for professional development. The PSS has also provided a unique opportunity for volunteer coaches to extend their own skills and professional development, also.”
Chief Social Care Officer for Wales, Albert Heaney said: “The Welsh Government is delighted to be able to continue funding BASW’s Professional Support Service in Wales, allowing them to continue the great work they are doing in the social care sector.
