Help us honour black history month
The social work department at the University of Edinburgh and the Scottish Association of Social Work are holding an event on Wednesday 27th October 2021 as part of Black History Month. The event will be a panel discussion exploring the contribution that black and minority ethnic social workers make in Scotland, and the challenges they face. We want to have a short video with contributions from black and minority ethnic social workers in Scotland – might you be interested in recording a short video and sending it to us? You need to self-identify as being black, Asian or another ethnic minority, and be prepared to complete the statement “The contribution I make to social work in Scotland is……” and then answer the question “What change would help for someone from a minority ethnic background to practise social work in Scotland”. The videos should be between 90secs and 2mins long.
If interested, then please email J.Devaney@ed.ac.uk for more information or to clarify any issue.
