National Health and Social Care Workforce Plan Part 2 - a framework for improving workforce planning for social care in Scotland
The Scottish Government, together with COSLA, has published Part 2 of the National Health and Social Care Workforce Plan - a framework for improving workforce planning for social care in Scotland. Part 2 enables different workforce planning systems to take stock, and move forward incrementally towards improved integrated planning across the full Social Care landscape.
On publication of Part 2 of the plan, SASW Manager Trisha Hall, said:
"SASW and its members are committed to supporting the implementation of the workforce plan by contributing constructively on the issues related to social work, and its role within the integrated partnership. We want to highlight and protect the unique identity of our profession and what it can offer within multi-agency settings, particularly in respect of social protection for the most vulnerable people in our society. This means ensuring we train and also retain our qualified social workers and allow them to develop the relationships with the people they work with and for, and their colleagues in social care and other partner professionals. SASW looks forward to playing a positive role in working with policy makers and leaders on the optimum implementation of the plan".
