SASW Celebrates Pride Month
The SASW Team wishes everyone a very happy Pride Month!
Every June, people come together to celebrate Pride Month, a month dedicated to championing LGBTQIA+ communities both in the UK and around the world.
Pride marks the anniversary of the Stonewall riots, a series of protests that occurred in New York City after police attempted to raid the Stonewall Inn, a popular gay bar, in June 1969.
A number of Pride events are taking place across Scotland throughout the month. A full list is available here.
Here are some other ideas for how you can get involved:
- Share what LGBTQIA+ Pride means to you
- Change your online meetings background to Pride colours
- Make a donation to an LGBTQIA+ organisation
- Volunteer with or support a local LGBT group
- Support LGBTQIA+ art and culture
-
