Alison had a wonderful conversation with Claire Burns at Celcis which included discussion around the National Care Services and support for families. We strengthened our annual programme of events, particularly around MHOs and NQSWs, in our meeting with the SSSC.
Karin attended the new Diaspora Social Worker Special Interest Group (SIG) to hear about the issues concerning for social workers who have trained abroad.
Our committee member, Toyin, and Karin provided an Interview Skills training for social workers from the BAME community.
Alison and Karin met with colleagues from University of Edinburgh to continue a conversation on support, self-care and resilience in the social workforce and how we can support a culture change where it is ok for social workers to need and accept support for themselves too.
We secured sponsorship from our third and final MSP and hope to set up our Cross-Party Group on Social Work when parliament returns after summer recess.
