SASW wants members to respond to consultation on Child Poverty Bill for Scotland
This Scottish Government consultation sets out proposals for a Child Poverty Bill for Scotland that will:
- Enshrine in legislation the Scottish Government’s ambition to eradicate child poverty
- Place a duty on Scottish Ministers to publish a Child Poverty Delivery Plan every 5 years, and to report on that Plan annually
- Set statutory income targets
At SASW we believe it is important that members try to respond to this consultation. Poverty is having an impact on the lives of so many children in Scotland. As social workers we must see children in the context of the families and communities they live in. This is an opportunity to give your views on how child poverty can be eradicated, thus improving the life prospects for children and families across Scotland.
The consultation runs from 8th August to 30th September 2016. Click HERE to read more and complete the consultation.
