Statement on the Supreme Court judgement on incorporation of the UNCRC into Scots Law. This ruled that th Scottish Parliament did not have the power to pass such legislation, but the government "remains committed to the incorporation of the UNCRC to the maximum extent possible". More, here.
Carers allowance supplement (Scotland) bill passed on 7th October. Ths bill provides an increase in the amount of the carer’s allowance supplement for the period from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2020. It also gives the Scottish Government the ability to increase the amount of carer’s allowance supplement in the future.
Good Food Nation (Scotland) Bill introduced on 7th October. This requires the Scottish ministers to prepare and publish a national good food nation plan. It also required local authorities and health boards to prepare and publish their own good food nation plans.
Proposed Right to Addiction Recovery (Scotland) Bill on 6th October. This proposed Bill would enable people addicted to drugs and/or alcohol to access the necessary addiction treatment they require
The Equalities, Human Rights and Civil Justice Committee took evidence on the proposed Right to Food Bill and undertook pre-budget scrutiny.
