Six days left to become a social work leader - BASW council elections
Do you think you’ve got what it takes to be a social work leader? If so, BASW wants to hear from you. Social work needs great leaders that will stand up for and champion the profession in these challenging times and we need lead members who reflect the breadth and diversity of our great profession.
We are seeking nominations for the positions of BASW UK Chair, BASW UK Vice Chair and Chair of the Finance and Human Resources Committee, as well as additional members on BASW Council.
The closing date for receipt of nominations is Wednesday 17 February 2016.
In order to reflect the diversity of our membership we particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups or from those currently in front line practice.
Candidates must have been members of the Association for a minimum of three years continuously immediately prior to nomination. Successful candidates will take office at the end of the BASW UK AGM in April 2016 until the conclusion of the 2018 Annual General Meeting.
Council is the governing body of BASW and Council members are responsible for the sound management of the Association as its Directors. BASW is a company limited by guarantee and all candidates must be eligible to stand as company directors. Candidates should normally be eligible to be a registered social worker.
Applicants must be nominated by five members (other than the candidate themselves) or by a branch committee or a National Standing Committee.
