The Social Work Role in Domestic Abuse Aberdeen
On Tuesday 4th December, the SASW team partnered with Scottish Women’s Aid and Robert Gordon University to deliver ‘the Social Work Role in Domestic Abuse’ event in Aberdeen. This is the fifth iteration of this event, a similar programme having already been delivered in Dumfries, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness. With a mixture of keynote speakers, round table discussions and Q&A opportunities, delegates were able to learn about typologies of intimate partner violence and reflect on practice working with survivors and perpetrators. Well attended by both practicing and student social workers, we’ve received incredibly positive feedback on the event – 86% of delegates rated the event overall as excellent. We can replicate similar events to this around the country – get in touch if you could help support our next one.
