Two year suspension for children’s worker
A children’s social worker who admitted failings in his handling of child protection work has been suspended from the social care register for two years.
Marius Sacalos, who worked in the looked after team at Blaneau Gwent County Borough Council, breached the code of practice 17 times by failing to arrange visits with social workers, not maintaining clear and accurate records and not preparing properly for court.
The committee said it believed that if Mr Sacalos would “recover his suitability” to be placed on the register within two years.
