BASW Cymru’s National Director, Prof. Sam Baron, has called on the new Prime Minister to work closely with the newly appointed Secretary of State for Health and Social Care to deliver an ambitious plan that can become a beacon of excellence and best practice to the devolved nations across the UK.
“The quick abandonment of the Rwanda scheme by the new government is welcome, and we hope indicates a more humane and ethical approach to tackling problems the country faces.
To quote the prime minister’s first speech on the steps of Downing Street, the country "voted decisively for change, for national renewal" and the scale of the task in England that the new government inherits cannot be underestimated.
