BASW has responded to this week’s publication of the Learning Disabilities Mortality Review (LeDeR) Programme’s 2018 annual report, which indicate ongoing concerns about the premature deaths of people with learning disabilities.
BASW has responded to this week’s publication from the Children’s Commissioner for England – ‘Far less than they deserve: Children with learning disabilities or autism living in mental health hospitals’.
This week, BASW welcomed guests, visitors and members to an open day that showcased our HQ and refurbished courtyard, as well as a new members area for meetings and networking.
Last night’s Panorama expose of violent and abusive practices by staff on adults with learning difficulties and autistic adults at Whorlton Hall in County Durham was shocking and horrific.
BASW urges everyone who can to exercise their most basic democratic right on Thursday 23rd May and to help those who might struggle to access polling stations or party literature.
